Ariel Shapiro will be joining The Verge as a lead reporter for “Hot Pod,” which covers the podcasting industry. In her new role, Shapiro will write Hot Pod’s paid and free newsletters.
She begins on April 25.
Previously, she was an investigations researcher at Tooning Out the News, ViacomCBS. Before that, she has reported and edited for Forbes, where she covered music, comedy, and podcasting. There, she also contributed to the publication’s signature wealth lists, creating its first list of the highest-earning podcasters.
She has also interned at CNBC and Dow Jones.
Shapiro has a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds a master’s degree from New York University.
