The Messenger hires three new breaking business news reporters

News startup The Messenger has hired three reporters to cover breaking business news.

Laura Bratton

Laura Bratton has been an intern for New Hampshire Public Radio. She also was a producer for “Shoresides,” a local journalism project in rural coastal North Carolina.

She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds a master’s degree from CUNY’s Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism.

Lily Meier

Lily Meier has been an investigator for the Mintz Group since November 2021. She also worked for the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program.

She is a graduate of Bates College in Maine.

Rocio Fabbro

Rocio Fabbro recently graduated from New York University. She interned at Foreign Policy magazine and recently participated in the Politico Journalism Institute.

She also interned at CNBC and was a research assistant at First Amendment Watch.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
