News startup The Messenger has hired Helen Reis to be its personal finance editor and Kathleen Howley to be a personal finance writer.
Reis most recently was at The Balance, a personal finance website owned by Meredith, as senior news editor.
She also worked at Bloomberg for 11 years, including time as editorial director of the content syndication group and as team leader for U.S. insurance coverage.
Howley has been contributing to Forbes.com for the last five years. She previously was editor at large and real estate editor for HousingWire.
Howley also spent 15 years at Bloomberg covering economy, real estate, investing, mortgages and personal finance, among other topics.
