News startup The Messenger has hired Patrick Cooley to cover agriculture and commodities.
Cooley has been freelancing for Industry Dive, but he was a business reporter for The Columbus Dispatch for more than four years covering agriculture, the environment and transportation.
He also worked for Cleveland,com as a life and culture reporter and as a crime reporter.
Cooley holds a bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University.
