The Messenger hires Berthelsen as financial investigations reporter

Christian Berthelsen

Christian Berthelsen has joined The Messenger as a reporter, financial investigations.

Recently, he covered financial crime and illicit finance, including national security and international tax evasion for Bloomberg.

Prior to joining Bloomberg in July 2016, Berthelsen was a senior commodity markets reporter for the Money & Investing section at The Wall Street Journal.

He oversaw coverage of securities law, entertainment law and law firm business for the Los Angeles Daily Journal. He also worked as a staff writer at the Los Angeles Times and the San Francisco Chronicle.

While at the Chronicle, he was twice nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in investigative reporting.

Berthelsen has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Hofstra University and a M.S. in journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
