Tech news site The Markup has hired Ryan Tate to be an editor.
He previously was deputy editor and technology editor at The Intercept. Tate was also a senior writer at Wired magazine, where he helped launch a new vertical.
Tate also worked at Valleywag as a writer and as night editor at Gawker. He is the author of “The 20% Doctrine: How Tinkering, Goofing Off and Breaking the Rules at Work Drive Success.”
Tate is a graduate of the University of California-Berkeley.
