
The Atlantic has hired Wall Street Journal reporter Vivian Salama to join its national security team.
She was on the White House team at The Journal. She joined the Journal in 2020 to cover the evolving relationship between the U.S. and China.
Salama previously was on the Journal’s White House team covering former President Trump before leaving to join CNN in 2020. She has covered U.S. foreign policy and national security issues for nearly two decades, reporting from more than 70 countries.
A native of New York, she earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Rutgers University, a master’s degree in Middle East politics from Columbia University and a law degree from Georgetown University.
