Entertainment industry site The Ankler has hired Kelly Fisher Butler as chief of staff.

She will start July 21.

Butler was at Vanity Fair, where she most recently served as director of editorial operations, leading teams across digital, print, and social, and overseeing coverage plans around tentpole moments including Vanity Fair’s annual Hollywood Issue and Oscar Party.

At The Ankler, Butler will be responsible for managing all aspects of day-to-day editorial planning, working with The Anker’s team of editors and writers, as well as serving as a liaison with the events and advertising teams. She will report to Janice Min, Ankler Media CEO and editor-in-chief.
“Kelly is a deft hand with a stellar reputation in the industry who is just the right person to manage and help scale a fast-growing company,” said Min in a statement. “Kelly’s combination of balancing fine editorial taste, high-end advertisers and the infrastructure that brings it all to life is unprecedented. As we massively expand our events and editorial footprint, and onboard more and more advertising partners, I look forward to working with Kelly as my partner.”
Prior to working as director of editorial operations for Vanity Fair, Butler held the titles of digital managing editor and digital projects editor for the publication. Earlier in her career, Butler was an editor at HuffPost and Washington Life magazine
