The Logic managing editor Jordan Timm sent out the following:
I’m excited to announce that James Temperton is joining The Logic as deputy managing editor.
James has spent more than a decade writing and editing stories about business and technology. He was previously news editor at WIRED and held various other roles at the publication, including leading its U.K. newsroom. He was also editorial lead for WIRED’s newsletter strategy and hosted over 300 episodes of WIRED’s U.K. podcast.
James has worked extensively with writers and editors covering everything from the wild rise of artificial intelligence to crippling ransomware attacks and deep dives into the most fascinating corners of digital culture. He’s especially interested in telling stories about the human impacts of technology. At WIRED, James was part of the team that produced an award-winning investigation into algorithmic bias. His first book, a guide to the future of healthcare, was published in 2021.
At The Logic, James will help lead our coverage of technology: the business of tech, its promise and perils and its impact on industry and society.
Originally from the U.K., he now lives in Montreal. His first day will be Tuesday, Sept. 10.
Please join me in welcoming him to the team.
