TechCrunch senior reporter Catherine Shu is among the layoffs at the technology news publication.
She has been covering breaking news from Asia and the United States, and she wrote analysis pieces about the tech industry in Asia, putting different markets, sectors, policy and trends into context for international audiences. She also wrote about all Asian markets, focusing in particular on East Asia, Southeast Asia and Australia.
Shu also developed and co-authored TechCrunch’s internal guide to covering China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
She previously was a news assistant at Barron’s and The Wall Street Journal.
Shu holds a bachelor’s degree from Sarah Lawrence College and a master’s degree from Columbia University.
