Trisha LaMonte of the paper interviewed her. Here is an excerpt:
T: How would you describe your new beat and what kinds of stories will you be covering?
E: My new beat is the coolest. I was initially attracted to it because it straddles two areas I’ve long been passionate about: news and features. I will be picking up some areas left by recently retired journalist Don Cazentre and adding some new ones that I’m excited to explore.
I’ve been describing the position as “the business side of how people spend their fun money.” I’m approaching that with three things in mind: people like to have fun (I know I do!) and value their hobbies, entertainment and free time; our readers want to make good decisions on how they spend their hard-earned dollars; and I want to highlight all the cool stuff happening here.
