Previously, he was at Adweek, where he reported on emerging technologies including virtual reality, augmented reality, and blockchain. He also covered agencies, brands, and the growing intersection of Silicon Valley and Washington D.C.
He previously worked as a political reporter at the Associated Press and as a freelancer. He was also a business reporter at the Alabama Media Group and has interned at Standard & Poor’s.
Swant graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
