Brooke Sutherland

Bloomberg News executive editor for the national desk Pierre Paulden sent out the following on Wednesday:

We are delighted to announce that Brooke Sutherland will be the new Boston bureau chief.
She’s looking forward to increasing Bloomberg’s presence in the Boston area, which is home to a large number of investment management firms and biotech companies, while also a key hub for water and energy projects, industrial startups and higher education.
Brooke started at Bloomberg as an intern in 2011, with stints on insurance and corporate finance, covering a wide range of topics from M&A deals to the industrial economy. She’s been a columnist for Bloomberg Opinion since 2015, where she launched the Industrial Strength newsletter, amassing a loyal following of CEOs and investors who rely on her analysis of the manufacturing sector. She will continue to publish the newsletter from her new base.
Her hobbies include chasing after her 15-month-old son, cooking, baking and reading murder mystery novels (when she can find the time).
Please join us in congratulating Brooke as she transitions to her new role on Feb. 1.
We would also like to thank Chris Anstey for his excellent work as the interim Boston bureau chief.
