Jon Steinberg, who launched and edited The Information’s weekend section, is leaving the tech news site to become executive editor of the San Francisco Standard.
The weekend section covers tech, culture, parenting and other topics.
He joined The Information from Epic Magazine, a division of Vox Media, where he was a creative director. He has also served as editor-in-chief of the San Francisco Magazine and was with the New York Magazine for over 5 years, where he worked as a senior editor.
During his time at the SF Magazine, his work won two national magazine awards and was nominated for two others.
He has also worked as an associate editor at Time Inc. and Diablo Magazine.
Steinberg graduated from the University of California at Berkeley.
