Statt hired as senior producer for Verge’s “Decoder” podcast

Nick Statt

Nick Statt has been hired as a senior producer for Verge’s “Decoder podcast.”

Statt previously was Protocol’s video game reporter. Most recently, he was managing editor at Naavik, overseeing the Naavik Pro newsletter operation, including scheduling and planning.

Prior to joining Protocol, he was news editor at The Verge covering the gaming industry, mobile apps and antitrust out of San Francisco, in addition to managing coverage of Silicon Valley tech giants and startups.

He also worked as a reporter at CNET and is a graduate of Stony Brook University.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
