Joe Carlson has returned to the Minneapolis Star Tribune as a team leader in the business news department.
He is managing a team of reporters and columnist Evan Ramstad.
Carlson worked as a senior researcher with Blue Heron Research Partners, doing qualitative due diligence work on companies in health care and other fields.
He previously covered Minnesota’s medical technology industry for Star Tribune. He’s a three-time winner of the National Institute of Health Care Management’s trade journalism award, and he won best business story in Minnesota from the state chapter of Society of Professional Journalists in three of the seven years he covered med-tech at the Star Tribune.
Carlson also worked at Modern Healthcare and is a University of Minnesota graduate.
