Springfield Biz Journal to get new publisher, owner

Former associate publisher Marty Goodnight will become the new publisher of the Springfield Business Journal on Jan. 1, with the plan of taking over ownership of the publication from current publisher and owner Jennifer Jackson in 2026.

Greta Cross of the Springfield News-Leader writes, “Over the next two years, Jackson will continue serving as the publication’s sole owner and president of SBJ Publishing Inc. In January 2026, Goodnight will take the reigns as owner.

“Jackson has been the Springfield Business Journal’s publisher since 2011, when she took over the role from her mother, Dianne Elizabeth Osis, who founded the publication in July 1980. Jackson has owned the publication since Osis’ retirement in 2016.

“Goodnight, a former advertising director at the News-Leader, previously worked at the Springfield Business Journal as associate publisher from June 2016 to December 2020.”
