Burns was also at the Sports Business Journal as a staff writer covering NHL hockey for two years.
Burns was a senior sports business reporter for the Morning Consult beforehand. He also founded the Sports Business Chronicle, where he acted as editor-in-chief. Additionally, Burns has written for Forbes, SportTechie, USA Hockey and others.
He graduated with a law degree from Belmont University and the University of Michigan with a B.A. in history.
