Sport & State, a new publication, has hired Mark Burns to cover sports business.
He has been a reporter at Morning Consult on the sports business beat. He had also been its senior brands reporter.
Burns was also at the Sports Business Journal as a staff writer covering NHL hockey for two years. He also founded the Sports Business Chronicle, where he acted as editor-in-chief. Additionally, Burns has written for Forbes, SportTechie, USA Hockey and others.
He graduated with a law degree from Belmont University and the University of Michigan with a B.A. in history.
