Mike Gruss, the former editor in chief of Defense News, has been hired as chief content and strategy officer of SpaceNews.
His job is to develop custom client-facing solutions, expand content offerings and enhance user experiences.
“Mike’s appointment as CCSO signals a transformative era for SpaceNews,” said Paige McCullough, president of SpaceNews. “With Mike’s strategic acumen and a deep understanding of the space and defense sectors, we are taking a significant step forward in our commitment to provide the space community with unparalleled insights and content.”
Gruss has been editor-in-chief of Military Times and Defense News, as well as four years as a senior reporter at SpaceNews, which launched in 1989.
He also spent nearly 10 years at The Virginian-Pilot as a reporter and columnist. Gruss is a graduate of Miami University.
