Politico has hired Geoffrey Smith as a central banking editor to cover news on inflation, deflation, stagflation and every other types of inflation.
Since December 2016, he has been working freelance.
Before that, Smith served as Europe finance editor at Bloomberg. He also worked as a news editor, Europe at Fortune magazine and as a financial regulation correspondent at The Wall Street Journal. He also reported for Dow Jones Newswires, where he also served as Russia bureau chief.
Smith has a B.A. from the University of Oxford.
