Matt Brownell, senior director of content at SmartAsset was laid off.
He wrote on LinkedIn:
“In that time I had the privilege of working alongside an all-star cast of talented writers and editors – many of whom also lost their jobs in the downsizing (and whom you should absolutely hire if you’re in need of writing and editing).
“As for me, I’m very much open to work, particularly for any Head of Content / VP of Content / Editorial Director roles. Any leads are much appreciated!”
Brownell joined SmartAsset in November 2018 as a senior editor. Later, he held the post of director of content. He worked as a senior content manager and editorial director at The Balance in New York. He was a content manager at About.com and worked as a reporter and editor at AoI.
He freelanced for Fox Business, DailyFinance, Bankrate, MSN Money and Credit.com. He also reported for TheStreet.
Brownell has a B.A. from Harvard University.
