Slate has hired Tony Ho Tran to be its senior technology editor.
He previously was senior editor for innovation and tech at The Daily Beast.
He has been covering technology including artificial intelligence, robotics, VR/AR, electric vehicles, and biotechnology. He was previously a staff writer for Futurism, and a contributing writer for The Chicago Defender.
His work has been published in HuffPost, Narratively, Outside Magazine and Playboy.
Tran is a graduate of the University of Iowa.
