Skift hires Dawes from Albany Business Review

Justin Dawes

Travel industry news site Skift has hired Justin Dawes to cover global travel technology and startups.

Dawes is currently a reporter at the Albany Business Review, where he has covered tech and startups, as well as cannabis and health care. His last day there is Sept. 28.

He was previously a staff writer for Grand Rapids Magazine in Michigan, and also a reporter for the Grand Rapids Business Journal.

Dawes is a 2015 graduate from the University of Michigan.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
