Sifted’s Stothard departs for venture capital firm

Michael Stothard

Michael Stothard is joining the investment team at firstminute capital, a venture capital and private equity firm in London. In his new role, Stothard will help the firm find entrepreneurs tackling global problems.

He will also be doing deals and helping portfolio companies tell their stories, along with creating content for firstminute capital.

Stothard joins from Sifted, where he was the founding editor. Sifted is the FT-backed media group which talks about Europe’s startup and tech world.

Before that, he was at the Financial Times, where he has served as markets reporter, Nordic correspondent, capital markets correspondent, Paris correspondent and Madrid correspondent.

Stothard is a University of Cambridge graduate.
