Shankland departs CNET after 25 years

Stephen Shankland

Stephen Shankland, who has worked at tech news site CNET since October 1998, is leaving the publication.

He has been writing about processors, digital photography, AI, quantum computing, computer science, materials science, drones, browsers, 3D printing, USB, and new computing technology in general.

Previously, he was the Google beat reporter and also focused on Linux and open-source software, servers and other enterprise technology, cloud computing, and supercomputers.

Shankland also spent six years at the Los Alamos Monitor as a reporter and managing editor. He is a Harvard University graduate.
