Shomik Mukherjee started as the East Bay reporter at the San Francisco Business Times on Aug. 24.
Mukherjee spent the past six years covering Oakland and Contra Costa County for the Bay Area News Group, where he wrote about politics, policing, corruption, land use and life around the town.
He also worked for the Times Standard in Eureka, California.
Mukherjee is a Cal-Santa Barbara graduate.
