Dear colleagues and friends,
After 28 incredible years, today is my last day at Bloomberg.
I started at Bloomberg in July 1997 as a clueless reporter in my 20s, and grew into roles I could only have dreamed of: editor, bureau chief, deputy managing editor, and senior editor on the News Desk. Along the way, I learned from some of the best journalists in the business and had the privilege of mentoring others in turn. As a woman journalist and a working mother of two special needs children, I was able to break barriers and set an example I hope will inspire others. Bloomberg supported me through some of life’s biggest milestones: going back to school for my master’s degree, teaching business journalism at my alma mater and publishing my first book. I will always be grateful for that.
Special thanks to the many editors who saw something in me and pushed me to grow, especially John McCorry and Flynn McRoberts. And thank you to Michael Bloomberg, whose philanthropy enabled me to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years for Eden Autism, a New Jersey nonprofit close to my heart that supports children and adults with complex autism needs. That impact will stay with me forever.
It’s rare to spend nearly three decades at one company. I’m sad to go, but excited for what’s next.
