Senior acquisitions editor Peacher departs “Marketplace”

Amanda Peacher, senior acquisitions editor at “Marketplace,” is leaving the public radio business news show after more than four years.

Her family is moving to Vienna, Austria.

As the senior acquisitions editor, she focuses on stories that raise our economic intelligence. Peacher work with reporters from across the public radio network and beyond to bring creative, well-crafted, rigorously reported stories to “Marketplace”‘s broad national audience.

She previously spent more than six years at Oregon Public Broadcasting.

Peacher holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of Idaho and a master’s degree from the University of Oregon.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
