
Shelly Banjo, managing editor of global business at Bloomberg News, has been hired as deputy editor in chief at Semafor.
She has been at Bloomberg for a decade.
She previously had been New York bureau chief before her most recent role. Banjo had also been an opinion columnist and technology senior reporter in Hong Kong and New York since joining Bloomberg in 2015.
Banjo earned an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and spent eight years at the Wall Street Journal covering the likes of Walmart and Nike.
Banjo also worked at Quartz and holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University.
