The Seattle Times has promoted assistant business editor Levi Pulkkinen to business editor.
He joined the Times in 2021.
Pulkkinen has been freelancing for more than three years. His reporting has appeared in U.S. News & World Report, The Guardian, The Hechinger Report and GeekWire, as well as Yes! Magazine, High Country News, Next City, and The Appeal.
Before going independent, he served as senior editor at SeattlePI, where he also reported for 11 years. He also worked at the Skagit Valley Herald newspaper.
Pulkkinen holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University.
