SABEW names 25 to data immersion workship

Twenty-five business journalists were selected for the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing’s 2022 Goldschmidt FRED advanced data workshop on Oct. 19-21 in St. Louis.

The journalists will visit the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis during the program to learn about economic data. “This is the second time we’ve done this workshop, and it resulted in not only greater understanding of FRED data, but better stories,” said Marty Steffens, SABEW chair at the University of Missouri, in a statement. “Reporters praise these economists as being extremely helpful and insightful in telling economic stories to our audiences.”

The workshop is funded annually by a grant from the Illinois-based Walter and Karla Goldschmidt Foundation. The program is organized by Steffens with the St. Louis Federal Reserve supplying much of the content.
