Daniel McMahon, the standards and copy editor at Robinhood Media, was among the layoffs.
McMahon was one of the main editors for the Snacks financial newsletter.
Before Robinhood, he was Business Insider copy chief, where he grew the copy desk from one person editing to eight full-time copy editors editing hundreds of stories.
McMahon has also worked as a copy editor and homepage editor at Time magazine. He was also a contributing writer at VeloNews.com and a senior online editor at Bicycling Magazine. He has also served as senior copy editor at eMarketer Inc.
He has also held editorial roles at Time Inc., and Haymarket Media Group.
McMahon is a graduate of Northern Illinois University
