Reuters rises, TheStreet falls in September

Reuters rose to the No. 5 business news site in September as measured by unique visitors, according to data released Wednesday from ComScore.

The financial news site reported a 20% increase in unique visitors to 32.9 million in the month. It jumped over MSN Money, which has a 3% increase in unique visitors to 28.9 million in September.

Meanwhile, TheStreet.com, which had entered the top 10 in August, fell back to No. 12 in September with a 30% decline in unique visitors. Its unique visitors in September totaled 13 million, down from 18.7 million in August.

Yahoo Finance remained the No. 1 business news site, with 99.4 million unique visitors in September, down 5%. Forbes remained No. 2 with 65.2 million unique visitors, down 2%.

Mansueto Ventures, the parent of Inc. and Fast Company, recorded the best performance of any of the top 15 business news sites with a 22% increase in unique visitors to 13.3 million in September, according to ComScore.
