Reuters promotes Shumaker and Wallis to day editors for the Americas

Lisa Shumaker

Reuters has tapped Lisa Shumaker and Dan Wallis to serve as day editors for Americas on the Global News desk.

In their new roles, Shumaker will work Sunday through Thursday and Wallis will work Tuesday through Saturday.

Shumaker has been with Reuters for more than 17 years, recently serving as a desk editor, where she edited general news and financial stories. Before that, Shumaker was a commodity reporter. She also worked at The Buffalo News for more than seven years.

Shumaker has a B.A. from Penn State University.

Dan Wallis

Wallis served as a weekend Americas editor. He has been with Reuters for two decades. He started in the London press before joining Reuters in 2003 in East Africa. In 2010, he moved to Caracas, where he reported on the death from cancer of socialist leader Hugo Chavez and market-moving OPEC developments.

In 2014, he joined the newly formed U.S. General News team.

You can congratulate Shumaker and Wallis via Twitter.
