
Jana Winter has been hired by Reuters in the Washington bureau as a U.S. intelligence and law enforcement correspondent, focusing on the FBI and other national domestic security agencies.
Winter has two decades of experience reporting on the nexus of law enforcement, crime and national security.
She has worked at outlets such as the New York Post, Fox News and Yahoo News, been a Boston Globe Spotlight investigative fellow and written for Foreign Policy and Rolling Stone.
Her scoops have included breaking the news of the Special Counsel target letter as it investigated Donald Trump for his attempts to overturn his 2020 election defeat, the FBI identifying “Black identity extremists” as a new category of domestic terrorists and on the FBI categorizing conspiracy theories as a domestic terrorist threat.
