Reuters hires Levy to cover corporate governance

Reuters corporate finance and ESG editor Greg Roumeliotis sent out the following on Tuesday:

I am pleased to announce that Rachael Levy has joined Reuters as corporate governance correspondent, reporting on boards and the inner workings of companies. A prolific scoopster and award-winning investigative journalist, Rachael brings a wealth of business reporting experience and sharp acumen to this important beat.

Rachael joins us from Politico, where she reported on healthcare policy. Her agenda-setting coverage this year of the challenges facing U.S. hospitals in their handling of the COVID-19 pandemic prompted the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to update its guidance on the wearing of N95 masks and the hospital regulator to seek out safety complaints from patients.

Prior to joining Politico last year, Rachael worked at the Wall Street Journal, where she most recently covered the domestic terrorism beat. There she produced several impactful stories, including on the intelligence failures behind the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol and the questioning of the San Jose shooter by law enforcement prior to him killing nine people. Her string of exclusives on the Trump administration’s ill-fated $765 million contract with Eastman Kodak won her and her colleagues a Society of Professional Journalists Dateline Award in 2021. Rachael is well versed in reporting on Wall Street’s big personalities, having successfully covered hedge funds both at the Wall Street Journal and Business Insider.

In her spare time, Rachael can be found outdoors playing soccer, hiking with her husband, and sprucing up her patio garden.
