Reuters has hired Edmund Lee as media editor, reports Lachlan Cartwright of Breaker.
Cartwright reports, “Breaker has learned that Lee is joining Reuters, where he will be media editor, teaming up with Global Tech Editor Ken Li.
“The pair previously worked together at Recode and even started a magazine at New York University. The two also became well known in media circles for their media mixers at The Magician on the Lower East Side.
“‘It’s like going back to school in some way,’ Lee told us. ‘It will be alotta fun. Ken is one of the best editors I’ve ever worked with.’
“Lee tells us Reuters has plans to build up its media coverage, including staffing up its media desk (they already have Los Angeles-based reporter Dawn Chmielewski on the team). ‘There are not so many sharp media minds in the business these days. Ken is one of them, and Reuters is killing it right now,’ Lee added.”
