Kenneth Li, global industry editor for technology at Reuters, sent out the following on Tuesday:
I’m pleased to announce that Krystal Hu is joining the tech team covering tech financing and venture capital. She comes from the finance team where she covered tech, telecom and media deals for the past two and a half years, breaking stories on some major deals including Elon Musk’s financing package on his Twitter bid and how the SPAC linked to Trump’s media company raised capital. Before Reuters, she covered tech companies at Yahoo Finance with a focus on Amazon, an area where she has also helped us break stories. Krystal has covered businesses in China for the Wall Street Journal in Beijing and for Reuters in Shanghai, where she got a taste of the excesses of VC-backed startups as Uber and Didi battled for market share by offering free rides to work.
She will remain in New York for now and move to San Francisco next year. She starts on September 6. Please join me in welcoming Krystal to the tech team.
