Reuters has hired America Hernandez as an energy correspondent in Paris.
She will start on Jan. 16.
Hernandez is an energy reporter at Politico. She is a third-generation newspaperman born and raised among the Mexican merchants of Olvera Street in El Pueblo de Los Angeles, California.
She got her start in local news, covering crime, business and color stories in six cities of Los Angeles County, before becoming the arts and theater reporter of the Orange County Register.
She then joined the staff of the Daily Journal, California’s legal newspaper of record, covering state and federal civil courts. She studied political science at the University of Southern California and she is fluent in English, Spanish and French, with intermediate Italian.
