Reuters hires Bensinger as a tech correspondent

Reuters global technology editor Kenneth Li sent out the following on Monday:

Please join us in welcoming Greg Bensinger to his new role as a tech correspondent based in San Francisco, where he starts on Monday.

Greg was previously a member of The New York Times editorial board, focused on the most pressing technology matters of the day. Before joining The New York Times he worked for The Washington Post as the Google beat reporter and at The Wall Street Journal covering Amazon and Uber, among other startups. Before that he worked for Bloomberg News writing about the U.S. auto, telecommunications and print media industries.

In his new role, he will cover the biggest tech stories of the day and work closely with the tech team across the globe.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University. A Seattle native, he now lives in San Francisco with his wife and two sons.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
