Rest of World has hired Christine Glancey as executive editor.

The new role, which sits alongside our existing executive editor Michael Zelenko, will be responsible for managing and overseeing our daily coverage from around the world.

Glancey will start on Sept. 16.

Most recently, she served as a deputy editor for standards at the Wall Street Journal, including creating and advising newsroom-wide initiatives on generative AI strategy, deep fake forensics, and reader trust R&D. With over three decades of experience in journalism, Glancey has held key roles at the Journal, including serving as the managing editor for Asia edition in Hong Kong, chief news editor for daily digital operations, and a masthead role as deputy managing editor for news operations and talent.

“We are thrilled to welcome Christine Glancey to the Rest of World family,” said Anup Kaphle, editor-in-chief of Rest of World, in a statement. “Christine’s long experience in newsroom leadership and her history of nurturing top-notch business journalism aligns perfectly with Rest of World’s mission to work with talented international journalists to bring untold stories about tech’s impact on the globe.”

Glancey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from St. John’s University and a Master of Arts from Columbia University. She is a passionate advocate for readers and championing young journalists and serves on the advisory board of St. John’s University Journalism Department. She has also served on the board of the Dow Jones Foundation and the International Center for Journalists.
