Reporter Witt departs Wichita Biz Journal

Josh Witt

Josh Witt, a reporter at the Wichita Business Journal, is leaving the American City Business Journals publication after three years for a new opportunity.

Witt covered aviation, banking and energy. He joined the Business Journal in January 2022.

His profile of Wichita real-estate professional Marlin Penner earned first place in the local business story category in the Kansas Press Association’s 2022 Awards of Excellence.

Prior to the WBJ, he worked 15 years for startup companies providing news briefs and analysis to Fortune 500 organizations, trade associations and government entities.

Witt is a Kansas State University graduate.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
