Quartz and Gizmodo to launch French, German editions

Business news site Quartz and tech news site Gizmodo, both owned by G/O Media, plan to launch French and German editions by the end of March.

In 2023, G/O Media rolled out French, German and Spanish versions of Kotaku, a gaming news site, as well as Spanish versions of sports news site Deadspin and auto news site Jalopnik.

“G/O Media’s sites have a tried-and-true formula that provides excellent news coverage, opinion, and content in their respective topic areas,” said G/O Media CEO Jim Spanfeller in a statement. “By bringing them to an international market we can both expand G/O Media’s reader base and bring additional value to advertisers.”

The new international editions join Spanish versions of Gizmodo and the A.V. Club, an entertainment and pop culture website.
