Porzecanski named NY bureau chief at Bloomberg

Katia Porzecanski

Pierre Paulden, executive editor of the National Desk at Bloomberg News, sent out the following on Wednesday:

I’m delighted to announce Katia Porzecanski as our new New York Bureau Chief.
Katia has been at Bloomberg for more than a decade in a variety of roles and is an ideal pick to represent the newsroom and spearhead coverage at a critical time for the region as it tries to rebound from the pandemic.

She was most recently team leader for Legal News, but started in 731 Lex as an intern writing the daily Argentina credit market column. Katia has worked as a reporter on Emerging Market Americas, broke tons of news for the Investing team, embedded on Leverage Finance and helped spearhead stories about #MeToo on Wall Street. She’s also served on the Reporter Advisory Board twice and worked with the internship program.

A native New Yorker, Katia lives on the Upper West side and has two girls who consume most of her free time. She’ll start May 1 when she returns from maternity leave. Please wish her congrats!
