The Portland Press Herald in Maine has hired Stephen Singer to be a business reporter.
He most recently was at Industry Dive as an editor for its Utility Dive publication.
He previously had been at the Hartford Courant and had covered manufacturing, high tech and other business beats.
Singer previously spent more than 17 years at the Associated Press in Charleston, West Virginia, and in Hartford. He was also a state capitol reporter for The Daily Mail in Charleston.
Singer holds a bachelor’s degree from Stony Brook University and a master’s degree from the University of Maryland.
