Associated Press reporter James Pollard is joining the wire service’s business desk to cover philanthropy.
Pollard will cover how new generations and technology are changing giving.
He currently covers state government and inequality for the AP in Columbia, South Carolina. Before joining the Report for America corps, he earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science at Northwestern University. There, he served as managing editor of The Daily Northwestern and worked as a research assistant in the political science department.
Pollard has reported on Texas politics and policy as a fellow with The Texas Tribune, interned on the NBCUniversal digital team, and covered his hometown of St. Louis as an intern with the Riverfront Times.
