AML Intelligence announced Monday the hiring of Carlo Boffa as the platform’s new EU correspondent based out of Frankfurt.

Boffa, who joins from Politico, will be responsible for covering EU affairs, including the Anti-Money Laundering Authority based in Germany’s financial capital.

“European financial services across banks, fintechs, gaming, insurance and crypto, as well as the non-financial sector, are focused on the workings and decision-making at AMLA. Carlo will help bring insight to inform Europe’s financial services about what’s going on at AMLA,” said AML Intelligence publisher Stephen Rae in a statement.

Boffa began his career in Poland with Thomson Reuters before joining Politico, where he reported on the European Central Bank and the broader European economy.
