Politico Europe reporter Lucia Mackenzie is now covering food and agriculture.
Mackenzie has worked in the Brussels newsroom since June 2023. She worked on production and data journalism before joining the agriculture and food team in May 2025.
She moved to Brussels from Edinburgh, where she worked as a research assistant for the Diffley Partnership, covering public attitudes to economic and social issues in Scotland.
She grew up in Scotland and Germany and holds a degree in politics with quantitative methods from the University of Edinburgh.
