Politico reporter Clare Fieseler is leaving the news organization to take on some ocean reporting projects.
She had been reporting for Politico and subsidiary E&E News on renewable energy, climate and technology.
Most recently, Fieseler was a staff reporter for The Post and Courier, South Carolina’s largest newspaper. She also maintains a research appointment at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History where she works with Dr. Nick Pyenson on a National Geographic Society-funded research project.
Her byline has appeared in outlets such as Vox, Slate, National Geographic, and The Washington Post.
She holds a PhD in ecology from UNC-Chapel Hill.
